Abstract

Nowadays, there are many studies related to the logistics sector. In the studies, it is observed that the logistics sector is evaluated in terms of economic, social, political, geographical or environmental aspects. In these evaluations, many concepts such as a port, logistics center, logistics village were used and studies of these areas were made. However, the concept of dry port has become widespread in the world in the last 20 years. This situation made it difficult for dry ports to separate from inland ports, logistics centers and ports. In this study, dry ports in Europe were examined and Hamina Kotka dry port in Finland, located in the north of Europe, and Zaragoza Dry port in Spain, located in the south of Europe, were close to each other in terms of capacity, and comparative analyzes were made. The aim of this study, which uses buffer analysis as a working method, is to make a spatial comparison of dry ports in two remote points in Europe and to provide a clear dry port definition to the literature.
